CEBU, Philippines – Want to hear creepy sounds and unforgettable stories of frights and horror?
Mandaue City's horror booth finally opened to the public yesterday and will remain open until November 2.
The horror booth, which is sponsored by the Mandaue City government, the Kaabag Foundation, and the Council for the Protection of the Children is now on its fourth year.
Sarah Cortes, Sarah Cortes, Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes' wife, and the chairman of the Council for the Protection of the Children said the project's proceeds will be spent for the Christmas party of the city's indigent children, which will be chosen and identified by barangay captains and coordinators.
The children will also bring home some goodies for their families.
With an entrance fee of P20, one can already have a scary experience of seeing "aswangs," Dracula, zombies, and "tiyanaks."
Engr. Emetrio Cabilao, the president of the Kaabag Foundation, said the booth now has three chambers.
The cast is composed of 40 character members which belong to Mandaue's Pride (MANPRIDE), an organization of the city's third sex.
The cast members will be manning the booth on two shifts from 1 to 6 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 12 midnight.
Cortes said 20,000 people are expected to troop to the horror booth this year. (FREEMAN)
