CEBU, Philippines – The city council has approved a resolution requesting the Lapu-lapu City Health Department to conduct a medical, dental and optical mission for senior citizens in the city as the elderly mark Senior Citizens Month starting next month and every October thereafter.
Lapu-Lapu City Councilors Eduardo Patalinjug, Quennie Ammann, and co-sponsor Marcial Ycong introduced the resolution.
Patalinjug said various programs and activities will be prepared by the Lapu-Lapu City Federation of Senior Citizens in consonance with the celebration.
Patalinjug said one of the primary concerns of the elderly is their physical condition.
"To add more meaningful, memorable and fruitful celebration of the coming senior citizens month and to satisfy the warranted medical attention they deserve, there is a need to conduct the medical mission," the resolution said. (FREEMAN)
