CEBU, Philippines – A habal-habal (motorcycle for hire) driver landed at the hospital after he was stabbed by another driver who allegedly accused him of having sexual relations with his wife in Barangay Guadalupe Wednesday night.
Isidro Caresosa, Jr., 44, of Sitio Sandayong, bore at least three stabbed wounds in his body after he was attacked by Custodio Mariquit, Jr., of Caballes Compound, also a motorcycle for hire driver.
The victim alleged that he was about to board his motorcycle at around 7 p.m. when the suspect, armed with a knife, suddenly attacked him.
The suspect hit the victim on his left stomach, chest portion and right side of the body before fleeing.
Caresosa was taken to the Chong Hua Hospital while the knife stills embeds in his body. He was declared out of danger after an operation.
Meanwhile, a cigarette vendor shot dead a vehicle dispatcher in front of Doña Luisa Building, near Fuente Oval, in Barangay Capitol Site on the same night.
Alexander Donaire, a resident of Riverside, Barangay Sambag 2 died of gunshot wounds to his chest and lower right arm.
Police said the victim was about to buy lotto tickets at around 6 p.m. when the suspect suddenly appeared and without any apparent reason, shot him several times, hitting him twice in the body.
The suspect immediately fled after the incident while Donaire was rushed to the nearby Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival.
Police said a few days prior to the incident, the suspect and the victim had a heated argument as to the P5 parking fee they got from owners of private vehicles parking in the area. The suspect was allegedly the one who received the money when both of them rendered service to the car driver.
