In Toledo City, a man died instantly after he was shot on the head around 11 am when he was walking along the road in Barangay DAS APSA. The victim was identi-fied as Loui Adlawin Suico, 22, of Barangay Campo 8.
Police said the suspect used a .45 caliber pistol and fled right after shooting the victim. No witnesses has come out to shed light on the incident, as of yesterday.
"Wala pa man mga witnesses na nanawag o nihatag ug impormasyon kabahin sa maong panghitabo," said SPO4 Gil Lastimosa of the Toledo City Police.
Evening on the same day in Danao City, a man was also shot in the Barangay Suba around 9:30 pm. The victim, identified as Joseph Ypil Salingua, 43, sustained wounds on his left chest and chin.
Ypil told authorities he was outside his neighbor's house at that time when he was shot by a certain Wilmer Priscillas. He was also brought to the Danao City District Hospital, but was later transferred to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City owing to the severity of his wounds.
Police were not able to recover any evidence from the crime scene and said the suspect fled after the incident. Salingua said he was drunk at the time of the shooting and reportedly figured in a fight with Priscillas beforehand, which might have triggered the latter to shoot him.
An hour later, another man identified as Ric Arthur Tabla, 31, died after he was shot by one Paul Gorre, 42, also in Danao City.
SPO4 Jose Salingua Jr. revealed that Tabla was arguing with an unidentified person past 10pm at the corner of Rizal and Mabini Streets when Gorre appeared and shot Tabla with no apparent reason.
Tabla was rushed to the Danao City District Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival. Police subsequently arrested Gorre at his residence. He did not resist arrest and is currently detained at the police station.
Meanwhile, around 11pm in Balamban town, a man was shot by two men on board a motorcycle along the highway of Barangay Buanoy. Erwin Ricaña, 32, sustained a gunshot wound on his left thigh.
Police said Ricaña had an argument with the suspects before the incident, but just a few moments after the suspects left him, they returned and the person riding in pil-lion shot the victim, hitting him on the thigh.
Police later recovered five empty shells of a .45 caliber pistol from the crime scene. (FREEMAN)
