2 suspects nabbed in separate drug busts

CEBU, Philippines - Two alleged drug pushers were arrested in separate buy bust operations in Carcar and Bantayan yesterday and Wednesday.

Two drug operations were conducted in Carcar but only one was arrested as the other suspect eluded arrest while the police were about to get him inside the patrol car.

The suspect, a Felixberto “Kano” Dayongco, a known drug personality in the town, was about to flee on board his motorcycle in Barangay Rotunda on Wednesday when he was accosted by the police officers.

Elements of Carcar Police Station responded to the area after receiving information about an armed person. However, upon seeing the police officers, the suspect allegedly hurriedly boarded his motorcycle to escape but he was quickly stopped and apprehended.

During a body search, police recovered three small plastic packs believed to be shabu from Dayongco. Two more packs and several drug paraphernalia were recovered from his motorcycle.

But when police were about to get him into the patrol car, the suspect suddenly ran and escaped.

Yesterday, another suspect was arrested in Corner Awayan, Poblacion III, Carcar City in a buy bust operation.

Conrado Santinigal, 19, of Sitio Lumboy, Barangay Liburon, was arrested through a tip from a concerned citizen who complained against the suspect’s illegal activities.

Police immediately conducted a buy bust operation against Santinigal who handed a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer in exchange for P200.

Twelve more small plastic sachets of shabu placed inside a pouch were recovered from him during a frisk.

In Bantayan, Jaymar Kaquilala, 35, of Barangay Putian was also arrested for selling illegal drugs.

Elements of Bantayan Police Station used a poseur buyer to negotiate with Kaquilala for shabu worth P400.
