CEBU, Philippines - Grade1 students of the different public elementary schools in Liloan have received bags and school supplies thanks to the program of the municipal government, said municipal Councilor Bernard Lopez.

Lopez, chairman of the committee on education at the Municipal Council told The FREEMAN that Mayor Vincent Duke Frasco through the Municipal School Board prioritizes the program related to education.

According to Councilor Lopez, Vice Mayor Merelito Surita and the members of the municipal council announced their support to the program of Mayor Frasco.

Frasco and Surita and members of the municipal council visit different public elementary schools in Liloan and distribute school bags and school supplies to Grade 1 students.

"Wala gayud kami magmakuli sa pagsuporta sa programa sa mayor gumikan kay nakita man gud namo nga ang kabataan maoy makabenipisyo niini," said Lopez.

Included in the education program is the repair of the different public and elementary schools in the town.

Different non-governmental organizations and companies also support the education program.

Aboitiz Company and the Visayan Electric Company shoulder the repair of buildings of an elementary school in the town, as part of the Adopt a School program of the company.

Meanwhile, Mayor Frasco said that with the support of the private sector, the town can address the lack of classrooms.
