CEBU, Philippines - Mayor Paz Radaza believes that the old mini city hall in Olango Island can play a part in the delivery of basic services in the island and neighboring islets.
The mini-city hall in barangay Talim was constructed during the administration of the late city mayor Maximo V. Patalinjug.
The previous administration of the late mayor Ernest Weigel, Jr. and the former mayor and now congressman Arturo O. Radaza tried to utilize the mini-city hall.
Weigel at the time promised to spend at least one day at the mini city hall. But Weigel encountered problems.
The administration of former mayor and now Congressman Radaza also tried to use the mini city hall but was not successful.
Now Mayor Paz Radaza hopes that under her administration, she can make use of the mini city hall.
"Dili na unya sila angayan nga muadto pa sa city hall sa mainland kon aduna sila'y katuyuan sa mayor," said Rolando Duero, executive assistant of Mayor Radaza.
Leo Mercado, president of the Association of Barangay Councils and the barangay captains in Olango Island is happy about the announcement. (FREEMAN NEWS)
