Alleged drunk arrested for pretending to be a cop

CEBU, Philippines – A policeman arrested an alleged drunk for masquerading as a policeman while inside the barangay Cabancalan hall last Monday evening.

Gerome Hisoler, 32, single, of Sikatuna Street, Cebu City entered the barangay hall at 9 p.m. and scolded barangay tanod Napoleon Cabrera for no reason at all.

Cabrera called the police.

When PO3 Gregorio Sabal Jr. arrived, Hisoler also admonished him. Sabal then identified himself as a policeman.

Hisoler allegedly replied that he too was a policeman.

Sabal then demanded a PNP identification card from Hisoler but all the man could show was an identification card issued by the Barangay Intelligence Network (BIN) of the Mandaue City Police Office.

There and then, Sabal handcuffed Hisoler for pretending to be a policeman and took him to the Casuntingan police station.

A case of usurpation of a person in authority is being readied against the alleged pretender who is being detained. (THE FREEMAN)
