Rep. Cutie del Mar files 16 bills

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu City north district Rep. Rachel “Cutie” Del Mar marked the first day of work the other day with the initial filing of 16 bills to start carrying out her program of government. 

• HB 23 – Magna Carta for the Poor

• HB 24 – Food Subsidy for the Poor Program

• HB 25 – Integrating Values Formation in the Curriculum of Public Preschool, Elementary & High School Education

• HB 26 – Free College Education in Information and Communications Technology

• HB 27 – Institutionalizing a Free Breakfast Program for Public School Children in Day Care centers, Preschools and Elementary Schools

• HB 190 – Increasing the salary Grade of Public School teachers to grade 20

• HB 191 – Strengthening the use of English as the Medium of Instruction in schools

• HB 372 – Requiring the Mandatory Pre-Audit of Government Disbursement and Uses of Funds

• HB 373 – Stiffer Penalties for the Crime of Theft and Robbery of Portable Telecommunication Devices

• HB 369 – Stiffer Penalties for Violation of Prohibition in the Use, Wearing, Manufacture and Sale of Uniforms and Textile of Uniform of the Members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police

• HB 370 – including Broadcast Journalists in the exemption from revealing their source of Published News or information obtained in Confidence

• HB 371 – Providing for the Venue of the Criminal and Civil Action in Libel cases against Community Journalists, Publication or Broadcast Stations

• HB 192 – Providing for the Construction of an Undersea Tunnel from Cebu City to the Municipality of Cordova – and a coastal road to Lapu-Lapu City

• HB 193 – Providing a modern mass transport system in the first congressional district of the City of Cebu

• HB 194 – Amending provisions of RA 7621 creating the Cebu Port Authority

• HB 368 – Amending Sec. 6 of RA 6958 creating the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority.

Del Mar also disclosed the finalization of plans for the construction of a District Employment and Training Center and two flyovers to decongest traffic in major intersections. P.R. (THE FREEMAN)
