CEBU, Philippines - Five days after he filed his candidacy as running mate of Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, Businessman Glenn Soco admitted that some quarters pointed to him as having no political background.
Soco downplayed the bad comments against him and said he is taking them as a challenge, he said that when he accepted the offer of Governor Garcia to become his running mate he knew the big responsibility he would be taking on.
According to Soco, he consulted his family first and then his friends who advised him to accept the challenge.
When Soco filed his certificate of candidacy he was accompanied by his parents, sisters and friends.
“Para nako importante gayud kaayo nga sa tanang higayon naa makita sa katawhan nga naghiusa ang usa ka pamilya niadtong mga tawo nga gusto muserbisyo sa lungsod,” Soco said.
He added that when he visited the towns of Medellin, Sta. Fe, Bantayan and Madridejos, he personally saw for himself the problems that needed immediate attention.
“Kanunay ako nga andam sa tanang higayun pagsanong kon unsa man ang hukom sa katawhan kanako,” said Soco.
