CEBU, Philippines - The suspect in the shooting to death of a man, believed to be a member of a certain gang called Crips, was already identified. However, the identity is being withheld for police operation purposes, according to Cebu City Police Office director Patrocinio Comendador.
He said that the suspect, also a gang member, is involved in other shooting incidents carried out by warring gangs in barangay Guadalupe. The police will file a criminal case against the suspect.
Comendador also said that their mobile and beat patrols are now being concentrated in areas where gang members use to hang out.
As reported, Ariel Amante Cabalda, 19, succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head after being shot by an assailant past 10 p.m. last Saturday in sitio Sandayong, Guadalupe. A witness told the police that she and the victim, a resident of Kalubihan Banawa of the said barangay, were walking on the roadside when the suspect came up from behind them and suddenly shot the victim. — Niña G.
