2 Koreans, 4 Pinoys fall for trafficking minors

CEBU, Philippines - Six persons, including two Korean nationals, were arrested for reportedly exploiting minors last Sunday dawn at a KTV bar along Sacris Road, A.S. Fortuna Street, Mandaue City.

Arrested were Jefferson Baylon alias “Paula,” 39, of Tres de Abril St., Punta Princesa, Cebu City; Donna Grace Layda, 32, of Subic, Zambales; Mary Ann Felisilda, 27, of Guindulman, Bohol, and Rodezz Rosales alias “Miyoka”, 26, of Talibon, Bohol.

Police also arrested their alleged cohort Jangin Kwon alias “Rio”, 37 and Ko Dae Hyon alias James, 32, both Korean nationals.

Joint elements of Regional Anti-Human trafficking Task Force, Women and Children’s Protection Desk, and Department of Social Welfare and Development-7, led by Chief Insp. Romeo Santander conducted the operation at WKTV Bar at 3 a.m. They rescued 10 minors and 15 adults working as dancers. They conducted the arrest after receiving the pre-arrange signal from the undercover, member of RATF-7, PO3 Jose Erwin Dumaguit, who acted as customer-poseur with P11,000 marked money.

The team also recovered from the bar 26 condoms, assorted cards and calling cards of some of the arrested persons, one process business permit, DTR of employees, personnel, and GROs, bar fine records and daily budget vouchers, cash advance and sales record, Korean newspaper, CPU used for CCTV of WKTV, guard and GRO logbook, and the P11,000 cash.

The victims were immediately brought to DSWD-7 office for after-care treatment/evaluation while the suspects were brought to RATF-7 for proper disposition. — Niña G. Sumacot/WAB   (FREEMAN NEWS)
