Authorities' vehicles sabotaged

CEBU, Philippines - Policemen and barangay officials who were seizing marijuana stalks in barangay Sudlon II last Thursday became the target of another “operation” by unidentified men who pierced the tires of the vehicles used by the authorities.

Around 3pm last Thursday, the team of the Cebu City Mobile Group led by Insp. Fabio Cedeño Sr., a member of the police auxiliary, as well as barangay officials and tanods of barangay Sudlon II went to a secluded area in the barangay to uproot marijuana plants.

They were able to seize 200 fully-grown marijuana stalks and 247 marijuana seedlings.

However, when they went back to the area where the mini-dump truck and motorcycle they used were parked, they discovered that the tires of the two vehicles have been pierced with a sharp-pointed weapon.

The group immediately scoured the area in an attempt to arrest the culprit but they saw no one.The mini dump truck is owned by the barangay while the Yamaha motorcycle was issued as service vehicle to PO3 Eugene Duterte.

The uprooted marijuana plants have been turned over to the Cebu City Police Office for proper disposition. — Niña G. Sumacot/JMO   (FREEMAN NEWS)
