CEBU, Philippines - Two persons committed suicide last Tuesday in different towns in Cebu province.
In Barangay Don Gregorio, Borbon, Carlito Urot, 58, single, was found hanging inside his room with an electrical wire tied around his neck last Tuesday morning.
PO3 Edgar Novabos of Borbon Police Station said the victim was suffering from arthritis since a long time ago that caused him difficulty in walking. He added they believe this has prompted Urot to commit suicide because he felt hopeless about his ailment as his brother is also suffering from the same disease.
“Dili naman gud kaatiman sad iyang igsuon kay galubog man sad tungod sa sakit nga arthritis,” PO3 Novabos said.
According to the Urot’s neighbors, he had attempted to commit suicide three times and succeeded this time.
The victim’s body was foul smelling already when he was discovered which made police believe he died a few days ago.
Meanwhile, a 36-year-old woman was also found dead hanging inside her house in Sitio Tubod, Barangay Bitoon, Dumanjug on Tuesday night.
Police officers identified the fatality as Emelita Inticia, native of Mandaue City but presently residing in Dumanjug.
Wilbert Inilog, 27, live-in partner of the victim, was the one who discovered the victim hanging in the rope. He immediately informed barangay captain Enecio Escandalo, who reported the incident to the police station.
Investigation points to jealousy as the cause why the victim killed herself.
Police officers found no foul play on both suicide incidents. — Gabriel C. Bonjoc/WAB (FREEMAN NEWS)
