Two men charged for drugs

CEBU, Philippines - Two men were not allowed to post bail yesterday after being charged for violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

Charges of violation of Section 5, or the selling of illegal drugs, were filed against Ryan Zanoria and Mel Richard Seno after they were allegedly caught selling drugs to policemen last August 9.

Zanoria and Seno were caught in possession of .05 grams of shabu by the police in a buy-bust operation in barangay Talamban, on the said date.

PO2s Gonzalo Matundo and Rene Remedios, in a joint affidavit, said that they conducted a buy-bust operation against the two after receiving reports that they were selling illegal drugs in the area.

Matundo and Remedios said that their informant acted as the poseur-buyer and gave him P300 in boodle money.

After money and drugs changed hands, Matundo and Remedios said that they introduced themselves as police officers and arrested the suspects.

After the body frisk, they confiscated a pack of shabu from Zanoria and an insulin syringe from Seno.

The two are now detained at the Cebu City Police Office stockade.  — Jasmin R. Uy/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
