10 rounded up for violating curfew

CEBU, Philippines – Barangay tanods of Mabolo and policemen of the Mabolo police station the other night rounded up ten minors who violated the Cebu City curfew ordinance that prohibits those below 18 years old from roaming around the city from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

The implementation of curfew ordinance came one week after the opening of classes of public school in Cebu City.

The 10 minors were rounded up by barangay tanods from different sitios and were taken to the barangay hall. They were told to sign the logbook and later released after a short briefing from barangay officials.

“Dako kaayo ni ug tabang pagsumpo sa posibleng mahimong krimen, gani malipay gyud ang mga ginikanan aning atong gibuhat unya mahinaot nga motabang sab ang mga ginikanan pag-monitor sa ilang mga anak kay dili na maglaag panahon sa kagabhion,” Mabolo barangay captain Rey Ompoc said.

Internet cafés was not exempted from the curfew ordinance as barangay tanods also inspected if minors were still playing there around 10 p.m. – Ramil V. Ayuman/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
