Two hotels offering scholarship grants

CEBU, Philippines – The Golden Prince Hotel and Suites and the Golden Valley Hotel are offering scholarship grant for first year and second year students taking up Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management and Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or Management Accounting.

Benedict Que, owner of Golden Prince Hotel and Suites, believes that earning a degree is no longer a right but a privilege among the youth.

Que said that they already have three scholars, adding that they wanted to add five more as part of their social responsibility.

Under its scholarship program, the hotel firm will shoulder the students’ tuition fees and provide them with monthly allowance.

However, students are required to maintain a general average grade of 2.0 or equivalent to 85 percent.

Qualified students will be given an opportunity to work in the establishment.

Debbie Bazar, human resource assistant of the hotel, said all applicants for scholarship will be screened.

A final screening will be conducted for approval of the grant with the school’s endorsement.

The hotel management hopes that the program will help realize the dreams of those who aspire to be working in the hotel industry. — Johanna T. Natavio/LPM (THE FREEMAN)
