CEBU, Philippines - More than 200 patients benefited from the medical-dental mission of the Naval Forces Central last March 21 in sitio Buli, barangay Cansomoroy, Balamban town, Cebu.
Navforcen conducted the medical mission to thank barangay residents who responded to the Navforcen medical team which had an accident last December 13, 2008 in sitio Buli.
Volunteer doctors, nurses and dentists from the rural health unit of Balamban, FBMA Marine inc., Tsuneishi technical Services and Metaphil Inc. participated in the mission.
Also, the local government unit of Balamban and the barangay officials of Cansomoroy also showed their support during the activity. The 78th Infantry Battalion provided security.
Two hundred medical cases were attended to while 19 patients were treated by the dentists.
The services during the mission included medical consultations, blood pressure and vital signs checkup, dental checkup and tooth extraction. Free medicines were also provided by the Cebu Industrial Park Developers Inc.
Aside from the medical and dental checkups, 60 residents also availed of a free haircut. — AJ de la Torre/BRP (THE FREEMAN)
