CEBU, Philippines - A 28-year-old graduating nursing student of the University of San Jose-Recoletos was waylaid by four unknown assailants in barangay Mambaling yesterday at around 1 a.m. while the victim was on his way home.
Markjasson Bacaltos was using the skywalk near the Mambaling Elementary School to get to the other side of the south highway on his way home to sitio San Roque, located a stone’s throw from the said structure, when four unidentified men approached him. One of the men attacked him with the use of an ice pick.
According to SPO1 Henry Orbiso of the Homicide Section, Bacaltos was hit in the left arm and in the back. He was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center.
