CPPO to check reports of armed men in Ronda

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu Provincial Police Office director Sr. Supt. Carmelo Valmoria said he has ordered his policemen to look into reports of armed men in the mountain barangays of Ronda town.

The reports said armed men were seen passing by Argao, Dumanjug, Alcantara and Ronda towns, but Valmoria clarified that they are only few and may not even be members of the New People’s Army.

There are also reports that these men ask for money from residents of the mountain barangays.

Valmoria said they might just be outlaws on the lam or private armies of politicians.

Nevertheless, Valmoria said that he already assigned Supt. Anthony Bagarinao to lead personnel of the Special Reaction Unit and Provincial Mobile Group to check the reports.

They will be assisted by personnel of the Central Command. — Christopher Gabriel Bonjoc and Rey Pasaporte/BRP   (THE FREEMAN)
