Plaints filed vs. 3 suspects in killing of lechon dealer

CEBU - Complaints for murder and frustrated murder were filed yesterday before the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office against the three suspects in the killing of a businesswoman in barangay Lahug on New Year’s Eve because of alleged business rivalry.

Separate complaints for illegal possession of firearms and obstruction of justice were also filed against police officer 3 Kent Yngayo who allegedly harboured two of the three suspects.

The Cebu City Police Office homicide section filed the complaints for murder and frustrated murder against Diosdado Ortega of barangay Basak-Pardo, Jackie Trazona of barangay Cogon-Pardo, and Yuli Ramas of barangay Poblacion Pardo after they were identified by witnesses as the alleged gunmen who killed lechon dealer Methusael Inesola and wounded customer Lerio Abadiez last December 31 in the evening.

Ortega and Trazona who were arrested during the hot pursuit yesterday signed a waiver of detention to avail of their right for preliminary investigation. They were given 10 days to submit their counter affidavit.

The other suspect, Ramas, remains at large but he was also included in the charge sheet.

Yngayo, who was allegedly hiding Ortega and Trazona in his house after the shooting, was not included in the murder and frustrated murder complaints but separate complaints for illegal possession of firearms and obstruction of justice were filed against him.

A KG9 machine pistol, 9-millimeter, caliber .45 and a frontier revolver including several rounds of assorted ammunitions and a silencer were recovered from Yngayo’s house. — Fred P. Languido/MEEV   (THE FREEMAN)
