CEBU - The son of Provincial Board member Wilfredo Caminero was rushed to the hospital yesterday dawn after the motorcycle he was riding crashed in barangay Taloot, Argao town.
Caminero confirmed that his 15-year-old son figured in an accident shortly past midnight yesterday, but is now safe and recuperating at a hospital.
Caminero said his son was not the one driving his motorcycle, but their driver identified as Bryan Briones.
The incident happened when Briones tried to avoid a dog crossing the road. Both had just come from a drag race in barangay Guiwanon, he said.
Further, Caminero said he will launch an investigation into the drag race in Guiwanon.
The FREEMAN found out that the incident was not entered into the blotter of the Argao Police Station. There was also no spot report submitted to the Cebu Provincial Police Office on the incident.
But a nurse working at the Isidro Kintanar Memorial Hospital, who asked not to be named, confirmed that Caminero’s son was taken there past midnight yesterday but was referred to another hospital later on.
The young Caminero suffered heavy lacerations and contusions on different parts of his body, the nurse said. — Ferliza C. Contratista/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
