CEBU - The new chief of the Regional Criminal Investigation and Detection Group yesterday assured his office will be transparent with its activities.
Sr. Supt. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar formally assumed office as RCIDG-7 head yesterday, replacing P/SSupt. Zoilo Lachica.
Eleazar said information regarding his office’s activities will be readily available to the media and to the public but there will be times when information has to be withheld so as not to jeopardize an ongoing operation.
Eleazar said he plans to create a provincial unit of CIDG in Bohol, Oriental Negros and Siquijor, in order to bring the agency’s services closer to the people.
Before transferring to Region 7, Eleazar was assigned in Region III in Central Luzon for 21 months.
CIDG said its major concern is averting highly sophisticated form of criminal activities borne out of the modern technological advances. — Ferliza C. Contratista/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
