CEBU – A man was charged for frustrated murder before the Regional Trial Court yesterday after he allegedly shot a former schoolmate.
The victim, now a high school student, has filed charges against Isagani Cabatuan, a former schoolmate in the elementary level, for reportedly shooting her last September 27.
In her affidavit, the girl said that she was onboard her bicycle to buy ice the other weekend when Cabatuan along with two other men on a motorcycle shot her.
The girl said that she noticed the three men tailing her before they eventually shot her in the back.
She was also able to identify the other two men as Micallen Abella and Alex Montillano. Abella was reportedly the one driving the said motorcycle while Montillano and Cabatuan were riding pillion.
According to her, Montillano has been harboring a grudge against her because he was stabbed by one of her companions a few months ago for a reason that was not specified.
The girl was taken to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center after the incident.
Cabatuan was already presented to her for proper identification after the police had apprehended him. However, the authorities failed to arrest Montillano and Abella. – Jasmin R. Uy/MEEV (THE FREEMAN)
