Skull could be that of a missing boy

CEBU - A skull, believed to be that of a male minor, was found in a plastic bag hanging on a branch at a cliff in sitio Kaymitohan, barangay Sapangdaku shortly before midday yesterday.

Diosdado Abella, 28; Rico Enero, 20; and Allan Lausa, 20; all residents of the barangay, found the plastic containing the skull while they were looking for a certain seashell, locally called “kurakol.”

SPO2 Rey Cuyos of the Homicide Section of the city police said it was a certain Arcias Abella, a mechanical shop owner and relative of the three informants, who reported the find after the three reportedly got shocked with what they saw.

Police assessed that the skull has been exposed to the environment for quite sometime already because some of its parts were already deteriorating, although the plastic in which it was placed seemed new.

Cuyos said they will have the skull examined by doctors to determine whether it indeed belonged to a minor.

The police suspect that the skull might belong to the 13-year-old child that went missing in the same area two years ago. The boy’s parents, however, could no longer be located. — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
