Car-riding men rob, drag DOH doctor

CEBU - A medical doctor sustained injuries to her head and arms after she was robbed and dragged by three car-riding men along Fortich Street, Banawa, barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City last Thursday evening.

Police identified the victim as Dr. Elaine Ruiz-Teleron, officer-in-charge of the health operations cluster of the regional office of the Department of Health.

Investigators said that they already have the identity of one of the suspects after they traced the registration of the vehicle that was used in the robbery at the Land Transportation Office.

Police said that Teleron, who is residing at No. 4 Nangka Street, Banawa, Guadalupe was allegedly walking on her way to the Alliance of Two Hearts Parish to attend a meeting when a red Nissan Sentra stopped before her and one of the three unidentified men disembarked and suddenly grabbed her bag.

Teleron allegedly refused to give up her bag and struggled hard against the assailant but the latter allegedly pushed the victim causing her to fell on the cemented road. The suspects then sped away dragging the victim behind.

During a check with the LTO, police investigators found out that the red Nissan Sentra that was used in carrying the crime is owned by a wealthy personality whose son already has a record of robbery and have been in rehabilitated for several times due to illegal drug use.
