Boy, 16, stabbed  by uncle

A 16-year-old boy was wounded in the chest, left leg and left hand after reportedly being stabbed several times by a 44-year-old man in barangay Lindogon, Sibonga town.

Police identified the suspect as Rogelio Decierdo, married, jobless and a resident of the said place.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim and his father were on their way home from a disco at the said place when the suspect approached them armed with a knife.

The suspect moved to attack the father but his son defended him and was stabbed in different parts of his body.

The suspect, who is the cousin of the father and an uncle of the victim, allegedly had a grudge against the father.

The victim was brought to a hospital near Sibonga for medical treatment while the suspect was arrested by elements of the Sibo-nga police station.

The family of the victim is set to file a charge for frustrated murder against the suspect who is currently detained at the Sibonga Municipal Jail.  — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/BRP
