A policeman driver of the Toyota Innova patrol car is now in hot water after he allegedly bumped another patrol car while inside the motor pool of the General Services Office of the Cebu City Hall Friday evening.
Worse, it was also reported that PO1 Crisostomo Bayato was drunk at the time of the incident.
In a spot report submitted to the operations section of the Cebu City Police Office, Bayato was allegedly intoxicated while driving the Toyota Innova Patrol car with plate numbers SHN-898 out of the motor pool located at the South Road Properties.
While maneuvering the vehicle, Bayato reportedly bumped another patrol car, bearing plate numbers SHN-888, causing damage to both vehicles. Fortunately, no person was hurt in the incident.
The back left side passenger door and the rear left backlight of Bayato’s patrol car were smashed.
Following the incident, Mobile Patrol Group chief Arnel Banzon ordered Bayato to report to him for explanation.
If found guilty of violating the PNP regulations, Bayato would likely be charged administratively. — Edwin Ian Melecio/WAB
