Police take custody of Korean streaker

Neighbors of a Korean national in Mabolo complained of indecent exposure forcing policemen to put him under their custody.

The Compact Police Station took Kim Yeong Jun after residents at the vicinity of Tambor Condominium in barangay Mabolo complained that he loitering in their area naked.

Kim is reportedly in his mid 40s and temporarily staying at the said condominium.

According to Sr. Insp. Ryan Devaras in a talk with The FREEMAN, Kim was already wearing clothes when the MPG personnel turned him over to them last Friday afternoon.

Devaras heads the Compact Station under the Cebu City Police Office.  This is the station housed in a small building near city hall, catering mainly to tourist concerns especially those who got victimized by robberies.

Devaras said the Korean remained uncooperative even when SPO4 Edmund Molas, who has been trained to speak Korean, talked to him.

Kim was also able to show proper papers for his stay here.

In fact the Bureau of Immigration would not accept him when the police brought him there to be booked because he had with him the proper documents.

“Pagdala nila sa among office mura lang siyang wala sa iyang kaugalingon pero wala man sad manimahong bino, dili man sad siya moestorya og maayo kay private kaayo siya nga tawo, di mo-divulge pero naa gyud toy problema,” Devaras said.

Yesterday, PO1 Mark Manlosa desk officer of the said station informed The FREEMAN that Kim was released in the morning as the Korean reportedly had to catch a flight for South Korea last night. —Edwin Ian Melecio/NLQ
