Parents of the two minors who were shot dead in barangay Pardo last Sunday showed up at the Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office and confirmed that their children were members of the Crips gang.
Cebu City Police Office director Sr. Supt. Patrocinio Comendador said that Loreto Genosas, father of John Rey Genosas; and Carmelita Batuto, the mother of Roel Batuto, also admitted to policemen that their children were addicted to rugby.
But both could not say if their children were killed by members of a rival gang called the Bloods.
Roel Batuto, 17, and John Rey Genosas, 14, were on board a tricycle when two men on a motorcycle blocked their way and shot them in Sabellano St., barangay Pardo.
Police said the assailants, who escaped after the incident, used a .32 cal. pistol and a .45 cal. pistol based on the empty shells recovered from the crime scene. –Joy Kareen T. Saliente/BRP
