The peace of barangay Campo 8, Minglanilla town was shattered last Thursday when police recovered chopped remains of a female body near a river.
The dismembered body parts were discovered at around 11 a.m. after one of the residents saw a dog walking around with a human hand in its mouth.
This prompted the resident to report the incident to the barangay captain who in turn sought the assistance of the police. Policemen who responded to the area said the chopped parts include the thighs, legs, torso, hands and neck. The victim has yet identified but police believed she is a minor, aged 16 or 17 years old.
In a telephone interview with The FREEMAN, members of Minglanilla police described the killing was very gruesome.
“Maayo gyud pagkahiwa sa mga parts kay ang joint sa bukog ang gihiwa,” said PO1 Rodulfo Quilala, who was one of those who responded to the area.
“Brutal gyud ang pagkapatay. Ang nipples sa iyang breast gihiwa unya ang kinatawo sad gihiwa-hiwa,” added PO2 Avelino Celoria. “Duha sa tuhod, duha sa bugan, ibabaw sa pusod paingon sa ubos sa li-og, duha ka kamot og ang li-og apan wala gyu’y nawong… ang ulo nga parte wala.”
Police also found a black plastic bag, which contained the other chopped body parts. Because many kibitzers trooped to the area after hearing about the incident, Minglanilla. Scene of the Crime Operatives decided to bring and open the bag at Saint Francis Funeral Homes for proper examination.
The police said they are having a hard time in identifying the victim because there was no clue to her identity.
The SOCO already took fingerprints from the victim’s remaining fingers.
“Ang uban tudlo sa kamot wala na, giputol siguro. Kumingking na lang og kumagko ang nahibilin,” Celoria said.
Prior the incident, Carlito Pardilla, a barangay kagawad of Campo 8, alleged that at around 4 a.m. last Thursday, while he was sitting on the roadside, he saw a taxi stop by the Alimango Bridge for about three minutes, and then speed off towards barangay Manipis in Talisay City.
Police said the victim may not be from the place because they have not received any information of a missing woman. “Wala ma’y babaye nga nawa didto, so posible nga gilabay gyud ni didto sa sapa,” Celoria said. — Joy Kareen T. Saliente/WAB
