A 22-year-old man was killed after his cousin bludgeoned him in the head with a piece of wood in barangay Poblacion, Alegria town, Cebu last Friday.
Julius Glinogo, a resident of barangay Poblacion, was rushed to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center after the incident but he died yesterday morning.
SPO2 Justino Filipinas of the Alegria Police Station said that it was the victim’s cousin Alsabur Dalao who was accused of killing him.
“Dos por dos daw ang gigamit nga kahoy unya gikalitan lang og bunal sa ulo,” Filipinas said.
The neighbors who saw the incident rushed the victim to the Alegria District Hospital. He was later transferred to VSMMC after he needed a CT scan.
Police said they still do not know the motive behind the incident.
“Mag-agaw ra man gud ni sila. Wala pa mi kahibalo sa motive,” Filipinas said, adding that was neither sober nor high when he committed the crime.
The suspect, who voluntarily surrendered after the incident, was detained at the Alegria Police Station but freed earlier this morning. — Joy Kareen T. Saliente/BRP
