A 30-year-old man was shot and killed by an unidentified person while he was on his way home from a wake in sitio Bas, barangay Perelos in Carcar City early Sunday.
The victim, identified as Roberto Alberca, sustained two gunshot wounds to his stomach and another to his head, and was killed instantly.
PO3 Jobel Bacarisas of Carcar Police Station told The FREEMAN that the victim was seen walking with a companion (name withheld) around 1:00 a.m. from a wake of their neighbor named Vicente Lauron.
Upon reaching a lighted area in sitio Bas, the assailant appeared and shot the victim three times. Bacarisas said they are still determining the identity of the suspect. Police believed that the incident might just be a sort of thrill killing. — Joy Kareen T. Saliente/LPM
