Authorities arrested a 24-year-old man who entered a pension house and held up, at gunpoint, the front desk personnel of the establishment along Osmeña Boulevard yesterday noon.
The suspect, identified as Gabrielle Limotan of Canduman in Mandaue City, approached the front desk like a new client of the pension house but then he suddenly pulled out his .38 caliber revolver and pointed it at the staff, and shouted in declaring a holdup.
The front desk man, 19-year-old Jove Jaron Abellanosa, was shocked and terrified but someone from outside saw the commotion inside through the glass walls of the pension house and immediately called the police.
Responding policemen, led by PO1 Renato Noval, caught Limotan still raging mad, and threatening to kill Abellanosa if the latter will not give him money.
After his arrest, Limotan is now detained at the Fuente Police Station, pending the filing of charges against him for illegal possession of firearm and robbery.
The gun, loaded with three live bullets, is in custody of the police for evidence. — Rizzi Ann C. Cerera, UP Tacloban, CommArts intern/RAE
