Kamagayan man nabbed for possession of Nubain

The police caught last night a 41-year-old resident of barangay Kamagayan holding six ampoules of the regulated drug Nubain.

SPO1 Felomino Mendaros and five other policemen arrested Pedro Vergara for violation of City Ordinance 1427, which bans the possession of the regulated drug without medical prescription.

Nubain, or nalbuphine hydrochloride, has been used as painkiller by medical practitioners but can only be dispensed with prescriptions.

Vergara is now detained at the City Jail pending the filing of charges against him.  He was also made to pay a P1,000 fine.  Rizzi Ann Cerera, UP Tacloban, CommArts intern/RAE
