A man who was reportedly waiting for a bus ride the other night in Medellin was shot dead by unidentified motorcycle-riding men.
The victim identified as Danilo Compas, 49, a resident of sitio Tuhob, barangay Antipolo of the town died on the spot after sustaining several gunshot wounds on his stomach.
SPO2 Alfredo Limalima of the Medellin Police Station said that the victim was waiting for a bus around 8:30 p.m. when he was approached by two men onboard a red motorcycle whose faces were covered with bonnets.
For no apparent reason, the backrider pulled out a handgun and shot the victim several times.
According to witnesses, the assailants immediately fled towards the mountain barangay of Maharuhay.The victim died while being brought to the Bogo City District Hospital.
Responding policemen recovered from the crime scene two empty shells and one live bullet of a .45 caliber pistol, and a pair of slippers which they thought was owned by the perpetrators.
A follow-up investigation by the Medellin policemen is still ongoing to establish the identities of the assailants and the motive of the killing. – QueenieChariz Dayanan,/MEEV
