DAR turns over three bldgs. to DepEd, Carcar City gov’t.

The Department of Agrarian Reform has turned over three school building projects in Carcar City recently.

DAR Provincial Information Officer Rosanna Gay Visitacion said that the agency turned over a newly reconstructed three-classroom elementary school building and newly rehabilitated two-classroom school building in Villadolid Elementary School to the Department of Education and to the local government of Carcar.

The total cost of the construction and rehabilitation of the school buildings was P 1.4 million.

The Belgian Integrated Agrarian Reform Support Program shouldered the bulk of the cost amounting to P1.015 million while the local government of Carcar and barangay Villadolid funded the counterpart amount of P290,000 and P145,000, respectively.

DAR 7 regional director Datu Yusoph Mama and Carcar City Mayor Mario Patricio Barcenas attended the turn-over ceremony.

Mama thanked the local government for giving their share in the implementation of the projects. He said the schoolchildren will surely benefit from the buildings. — Jasmin R. Uy/QSB
