This after Tejero barangay officials agreed to give in to the demand of their Caretta counterparts who claimed jurisdiction over a boundary area that they are also claiming.
Both Tejero barangay captain Leto Fajardo and Caretta chieftain Marciano Ando welcomed the development and have agreed that their respective barangay councils would to come up with a joint resolution about issue.
Fajardo said the resolution would recommend to the City Council for the approval of the agreements laid down by the city's chief planner, Nigel Paul Villarete, and for the council to enact an ordinance for the purpose.
"Nalipay na lang mi nga nasulbad na g'yod ang among conflict. Anyway, pareho ra man ang among katuyoan, public service," said Fajardo.
It was learned that two Caretta councilmen are living in the disputed area that belongs to Tejero based on the 1960 map of the city.
Caretta barangay officials said it would be easy for them to provide the basic services to the residents of the disputed area because it is located near their barangay hall.
Once the ordinance will be enacted, the boundary of the two barangays is the north side of the concrete wall of the Doña Pepang Cemetery to the back portion of White Gold Restaurant.
At present, the City Council still failed to resolve the boundary disputes between barangays Lahug and Luz, and barangays Apas and Busay. - Rene U. Borromeo/LPM
