Minglanilla cop chief denies drugs, gambling allegations

Minglanilla police chief Joseph Mangaron has denied the accusations that he is protecting drug operations and prostitution in the area.

This after a concerned citizen from Minglanilla town told regional police director Silverio Alarcio that Mangaron and three of his policemen protect the illegal drug activities, tigbakay and the operation of video karera machines in the town.

These three policemen, two PO3's and a PO1, allegedly go to cockfights to collect protection money in full uniform.

The informant also claimed prostitution proliferated in barangay Calajoan after Mangaron assumed his post several months ago.

The informant urged Alarcio that a thorough investigation be conducted on Mangaron and his men.

Mangaron has denied all the accusation hurled against him and said that these were all pure lies fabricated by two of his personnel whom he recently relieved because of their involvement in some illegal activities.

Mangaron claimed he is actively campaigning against illegal gambling and drugs in his area of responsibility. - Flor Z. Perolina
