As the appellate court Cebu station marks its second anniversary tomorrow, it reported that despite of the recurring threats of budgetary crisis it was able to carry out the primary purpose of bringing tangible justice closer to the homes of litigants from the Visayas.
Joseph Stephen Ygnacio, CA-Cebu station information officer, said that the judicial data and statistics speak of the dynamic dispatch of judicial business, consequently translating into swift dispensation of justice.
Ygnacio said that based on statistics the three divisions of the Court of Appeals based in Cebu have already disposed of 4,542 cases since it started operating on September 2004 until August 2006. Ygnacio said 3,318 decisions and 1,224 resolutions have been penned here.
Ygnacio described the number of disposed cases within two years period as remarkable considering that the Cebu station has only seven justices working at any given time. Despite the many employee positions that remain unfilled, the CA Cebu station has bragged about its robust human resources.
Ygnacio said that all of these could be credited to the good and efficient team spirit of the members of the Bench under the very able leadership of executive justice Arsenio Magpale.
Magpale will be reporting the state of the Court of Appeals Cebu station tomorrow as they celebrate their second anniversary. The activity will commence at 8:30 a.m. with the usual flag raising ceremony.
A Mass and breakfast will follow.
Among the invited guests during the celebration are Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban and Court of Appeals Manila presiding justice Ruben Reyes. - Fred P. Languido
