The victim, Rufino Vasquez, a widower, had four gunshot wounds and eight stab wounds in various parts of his body while his assailant grandson later surrendered to the town police.
Barangay captain Carlito Sandag accompanied the boy to the police in yielding also the murder weapons, a .38 caliber revolver and a 6-inch Rambo knife.
Asturias police assistant investigator, PO2 Philip Acaso, yesterday told The Freeman that the boy has been detained at the police stockade waiting for the filing of criminal charges.
Acaso said that the boy, after killing Rufino on the spot, stabbed the victim's body several times. He said the boy was furious at his grandfather for beating him up every time he made a mistake in his assigned daily chores.
"Nagdumot ang iyang apo kay kun sugo-on ni siya unya masayop ug gamay bunalan, kulata dayon," Acaso said. - Norvie S. Misa
