Woman shot dead, drugs likely motive

An unidentified woman was shot and killed in a vacant lot in the interior portion of sitio Panaghiusa, barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City, last Monday night. Police are eyeing her possible involvement in illegal drugs as the motive.

Homicide investigator SPO1 Rey Cuyos only identified the victim as "Tisay," estimated to be in her late 20s. The only identifying mark she had was the CKI tattoo in her right middle finger.

Civilian anti-crime volunteer Venerando Ocampo, 44, a resident of the area, told investigators that he saw the victim and an unidentified man walking on toward the crime scene, then he saw the man pull out a gun and shoot the victim in the nose.

The victim tried to run away but the man shot her again in the nape, sending her to the ground before he fled.

The man was said to be about 5'4" tall, of medium build, and wearing a black shirt and a dark ball cap at the time.

A certain Mary Marson, who claimed to be the victim's friend told investigators that Tisay sometimes visited her house and told her that she came to use drugs.

Scene of the Crime Operations recovered a spent shell of a 9mm cal. pistol, a red ball cap, a pair of slippers and a black right sandal at the crime scene. - Edwin Ian Melecio
