Reputed 'drug pusher' shot dead in Balamban

A 45-year-old man who was reportedly a top drug pusher, was gunned down at the national highway in barangay Aliwanay, Balamban town at around 11 p.m. Thursday.

Floro Luste Gerali, a resident of that barangay, was walking alone and about to cross the other side of the highway at the time when three men simultaneously shot him at close range using various caliber of guns.

Investigator PO2 Cesar Climaco said Gerali died on the spot with several gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.

Responding policemen recovered from the crime scene seven spent shells of bullets from a .45 caliber pistol, one from a .9mm pistol and three slugs of a .9mm pistol.

PO3 Celso Diaz told The Freeman that there were witnesses who saw the assailants' faces but they could not identify these people because the area was dark.

Gerali had been reputed to be the number one drug pusher in Balamban but the police have yet to show proof on this claim, said Diaz. - Gregg M. Rubio
