DFA to offer passport mobile service at Plaza tomorrow

Employees who have no time to process their passports will have the chance to do so tomorrow, June 17, as the Department of Foreign Affairs will be holding a Passport Mobile Service at the Plaza Independencia in cooperation with Leo Lastimosa of dyAB.

Processing of passports is scheduled to start at 8:00 am, to run until 5:00 pm.

DFA regional director Leon Rodion Rojas said that the passport applicant would only need to bring his/her birth certificate, two valid identification cards, and ID pictures. The agency would also provide photographers and photocopying machines at the venue so that applicants who would fail to bring pictures or photocopies of their documents would avoid the hassle of walking far.

Rojas added that the passport mobile service is a yearly activity, adding that it is a very welcome opportunity for the agency to serve the public.

"Marami pa ring tao pero 'di na siksikan," Rojas said describing the everyday scenario at the agency's office.

As for the ASEAN Summit preparations, Rojas said that they are coordinating with the Office of the President. Regular meetings are being held with the different government agencies involved. - Noreen B. Napoles
