National Marian Congress set in Cebu on May 19-20

Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal and other members of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines will gather at the National Marian Congress to be held at the Cebu Midtown Hotel on May 19 to 20.

The Archdiocese of Cebu and the Human Life International-Pilipinas have organized this congress, which carry the theme, "Mary: Queen of Heaven and Earth, Mediatrix of all Grace."

The main objective of the two-day event is to enhance our knowledge and understanding of the role of Mary in our salvation. It will also impart Her urgent messages to humanity and the need for our immediate response, especially to the call of prayer, to avert impending disasters and chastisement from the Almighty God, said an official of the archdiocese.

The topics that invited speakers are set to discuss include Catholic Dogmas on Mary, Marian Messages through the Centuries, Famous Marian Saints, Countering the Attacks against Mary, Mary and the Apocalypse, and My Immaculate Heart Will Triumph.

Aside from Cardinal Vidal, the other speakers for the Marian gathering are archbishops Angel Lagdameo and Ramon Arquelles, bishops Camilo Gregorio, Filomeno Bactol and Antonieto Cabajog, and bishop emeritus Maximiano Cruz.

Those interested to participate in the congress, especially those belonging to different church-mandated communities and Marian organizations, may contact the office of the organizing committee through telephone numbers 255-0136 and look for Dr. Rene Josef Bullecer.

The congress' registration fee, from May 10 to 11, is P550 while on-site registration fee is P650. - Jasmin R. Uy
