Moneylender robbed by two men on bike

An Indian moneylender lost an undetermined amount of cash after he was robbed by two men on a motorcycle while he was talking to a client along Bayanihan Street, barangay Basak-Pardo, Cebu City, last Friday afternoon.

Roger Singh, 42, a resident of San Roque Village, barangay Pardo, Cebu City, went there to collect money from his clients when he was believed chanced upon by the robbers.

Singh told policemen that while he was talking to his customer, the robbers, who were on board a Honda XRM motorcycle, came up from behind and the passenger quickly grabbed the cash from the left side pocket of his polo.

Singh tried to chase them but one of the men pulled out a gun and threatened Singh who decided to run the other way for his life instead.

Last Saturday another Indian moneylender was robbed and killed in sitio Vampire in Catwalk, barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City.

Ricky Singh, 35, of Springville, Minglanilla town, just collected money from his clients when he was waylaid and shot by three men who later took his wallet. Police later discovered the men were residents in the area. - Flor Z. Perolina
