Municipal councilor Gerard Villamor consulted with members of the executive committee and they agreed not to allow the warring fraternities to join the celebration.
Last year a delegation from Akrho joined their parade although there was no trouble recorded.
Town officials said the measure was meant to protect the residents and visitors. Aside from the residents of the town, organizers of the Sinulog said that they expect some foreign tourists to witness the celebration.
The Sinulog celebration in Carmen town is usually scheduled every second Sunday of January, but organizers decided to transfer this to January 29 to give them time to prepare for the celebration.
