Arrested were Romeo Zamora, 25, a resident of barangay Manlapay, Dumanjug, and Enrico Aniñon, a resident of barangay Cogon also in Dumanjug town.
SPO1 Raymund Sala of Dumanjug police yesterday said that Zamora was arrested by his neighbor PO1 Saberiano Saromines of the 2nd Company of the Regional Mobile Group.
Sala said that Saromines arrested the suspect after he returned to their place last Saturday.
Zamora is accused of shooting and robbing a businessman who is engaged in the buying and selling of chickens in Dumanjug two years ago.
It was judge Anacleto Debalucos of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court in Ronda town who signed the warrant of arrest against Zamora for both murder and robbery cases.
The other wanted person, Aniñon, who is being sought for a drug case, was personally apprehended by Dumanjug police chief Insp. Carmelita Condevillamar. The arrest came after a police asset informed her that he saw the suspect on the same van-for-hire he was riding from Cebu City on his way to Dumanjug town.
Aniñon was arrested when the van-for-hire made a stop in Barili town.
Aniñon was able to escape from police during the filing of the case against him last year.
Both suspects are now detained at the Dumanjug police station. The police are just waiting for a commitment order for their transfer to the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center. - Flor Z. Perolina
