Inter-agency linkages hoped to net robbers

The Cebu Provincial Police Office is positive that with the coordination of the NBI and the Masbate Provincial Police Office the suspects of the Land Bank robbery in Bogo town who made off with P9,410,600 last August 2 will be arrested.

This as the CPPO, in a linkage with the NBI and the MPPO, reported of sightings of the suspects, most especially the five earlier identified and charged with robbery in band.

Charged last August 11 were Henry Cuerda, Joseph Ancajas, Joel Somabong, Ceferino Serbano, Dindo Ancero and six others.

Aside from the said agencies, other intelligence units were also tapped for the arrest of the said suspects.

Loot yesterday said that his men are now conducting an inter-agency operation against the suspects who were sighted in Masbate and other neighboring provinces here in Cebu after his office received information coming from other places on the suspects' hideouts.

Loot said that the provincial police are now gaining grounds with the operation and are hopeful that they can give concrete reports before the week ends.

He also added they are not only after the arrest of those who are wanted by the law, but they are also investigating further the involvement of some other people especially of the mastermind. This as he admitted that the police still do not have concrete information about the mastermind of the robbery.

"Depende kung ma-account na nato ang mga suspects, we might be able to get information from them, voluntarily or tactical interrogation and the technical intelligence can also provide us with data," Loot said. - Flor Z. Perolina
