Her husband identified as PO2 Carlo Tejano, 26, also from Pagadian City, fled right after the incident.
Initial investigation according to Homicide Police investigator Zenaido Pastorfide Jr. revealed that at about 4 pm the couple had an argument because the husband wanted to bring his wife and their one-year-old son on his trip back to Pagadian.
But Luchel refused because she was reportedly a victim of battery by his own husband when they were still in Pagadian that was why she requested to be assigned in Central Visayas in order to get away from him. Luchel sustained multiple stab wounds on her breast, back and arms but still managed to shout for help that prompted their boardmates to request for assistance from the Mobile Patrol Group.
The woman was declared dead on arrival at the CCMC at 5:05 pm, while her husband fled and became the subject of a hot pursuit operation since then.
Pastorfide said they had already checked on a vessel that was bound for Cagayan de Oro City as this was the only boat that was going to Mindanao last night. - Ryan P. Borinaga
